AIASTHRTOX, November 20

A spectacular fire was witnessed in .Mastertmi h>-ingbt, when a large womlcn building, owned by Mr H. H. Daniel!, was burnt to the ground. The structure stood 011 a section adjacent to the* town, but there were no other buildings in the vicinity. ■The brigade was helpless, as the fire Imd a strong bold when the alarm was given. The building was used lor storage purposes, but the exact natuic of tin contents is not known. The insurances were not aseertain--11 ble. F! BE DAMAGE. AUCKLAND, November 21. Damage estimated at Cl,ooo was caused by a fire at midnight in a barrel factory in Gillies Avenue, next to Newmarket School. The factory was owned by I*. G. Molle, ol Oliebiinga.aud was constructed of concrete blocks .-Hid iron. It was stacked with completed barrels and many others in course of construction, also dry timher. The principal item ol loss was valuable machinery which was totally destroyed, worth over £2,900. I lie building and contenis are insured in Royal and Soul'll British offices (for a total of £3,000.
