BULLET IN SOLDIER’S BOIW
During heavy shelling at Oppy Wood, is the summer of 1917, a Dumfries man, Mr Alichael Wells, then serving with the 2nd Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, and now a railway worker residing at Collin, received an injury which lie regarded as a scratch. After it had been dressed he thought no more alKiut it. About two months ago what was thought to be a lioil developed on his back, and then something like a ]K>neil-point appeared through the skin. A doctor as consulted, and AH Wells as astonished when the medical man extracted a German bullet from bis back.
