UNEMPLOYMENT IN CANADA
The following, notice was distributed throughout Canada .during August ami September, parts oi it being emphasis ’d by the use of block type: “Warning to Unemployed. Unemployed men take notice! Aon unwarned to keep away from the City oi Vancouver this winter. No work, no doles. This corporation lms laid down a plan to deal with the unemployed relief as follows:—(It That absolutely no doles lie given; (2) that work, such as breaking rock, clearing, land, cutting wood and moving dirt, be provided for extreme eases of indigents only, alter investigation, and as a relied measure, oi. two dollars per day for married men who are boualide residents of Mm city, and one dollar in the form ol meal and bed tickets per day for single llie n.—Bv order, City of Vancouver. August 17, 1928.”
