L. 11 oar n. a distinguished Xew York resident, who lias been in Wellington for the past week, is leaving for .Rotorua and Auckland to-mor-row night. Mr Hearn, who is a Count of the Holy Roman Empire was one of two Americans selected to accompany Cardinal Cerretti to Australia as representative of the laity of the 1. nited States, and as such lie. in common with other delegates from overseas, was amazed and delighted at the manner in which Sydney rose to the occasion. Without a precedent of any kind in the country, there was shown a resource and enterprise which clothed every ceremony with dignity and heautv. .Mr Hearn stated that Carthage (Northern Africa) will probably he the scene of the next Eucharistic Congress, this because I here has never been a Congress in Africa and a strong desire for the experience has been expressed. Carthago is one of the most interesting places in the ancient history of the Mediterranean, and to hold a Eucharistic Congress on such soil will create profound interest all over the ( hristian world. During his stay in Wellington. Mr Hearn .has been more or less confined to his room at his hotel through a slight accident which occurred on the Ma.kura. He has been receiving medical treatment here and will take the curative baths at Rotorua this week. He leaves for Vancouver by the Aorangi on Xov. 20th.
