Bradman started well, and gradually the pair got on top of the howling, runs coming freely. Bradman was clashing and Kippax was artistic. They were together till the tea adjournment., when the score read three down for 253. LATER, The match was drawn. Kippax ran info flic century in 151 minutes. Jardine’s slow balls wore particularly weak. Runs came freely. Bradman compiled TOO in 123 minutes, giving a great display, and making many glorious shots. He received long-sustained applause. He is onlv the third New South AValcs man to score a century at his first appearance against Englishmen. BROADCAST DESCRIPTION. Speaking 'from 2FC. Sydney, Al. A. Noble, the former Australian player, commented on yesterday’s play as follows:—“New South AA’ales, in getting 349 runs, have put up a particularly good performance, considering the two days’ gruelling they had on Friday and Saturday. Ivelleway, 93, was as steady as a rode, and was the mainstay for New South AVnies, being responsible for giving his side a chance-to save the game. Freeman, howling, varied his pace well, and, a good point, tossed them up a. hit higher. England’s fielding. on tiie whole, was good, hut the visitors may ho expected to show improvement after a hit more practice. Larwood was fairlv good, hut he did not appear to let himself go. Tate commenced howling with plenty of fire, but he also did not go all out. saving himself, probably, for later on.”
