Addressing an audenee of GOO last evening, .Mr U. .Masters (Dominion I'resident o-f the United Political Parly) criticised strongly the Reform Government’s iidmini.strat.ion, and claimed that the proposals of his party merited the confidence of the electorate. Without dissent the meeting accorded a vote of thanks to Mr Masters. together with a pledge of confidence in Wiird and the United Party.

Mr Forsyth M.P., candidate for Wellington Fast, in the course of an address quoted from the files of “The livening Post” to show that although .Mr Semple was not in New Zealand when the Waihi Strike began, lie arrived within fourteen days and addressed meetings in New Zealand urging the strikers to stand firm.
THEFT OF CAR

Whitehouso to Alfred .John Bulick, 19, when charged with eon verting a ear and driving it to Foxton. Me was seen hv the owner’s brother and a smart arrest was affected. Accused, who was recently roles od from Borstal received a month's imprisonment with hard labour. He left the dock smiling.
INTOXICATED MOTORIST
CHRISTCHURCH, November 12
“ Defendant is a very respectable resident of Dunedin. Me came up to Christchurch for the races and this is the result.” said Sub-In spector Fitzpatrick to-day. when .John William .Murdock, pleaded guilty to being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car in Oxford Terrace on Saturday and with failing to produce a driver’s license. The penalty imposed was a fine nif £'lo and the cancellation of defendant’s license, in default of payment of the fine fourteen days hard labour was ordered. On the charge of failing to produce a driver’s license, defendant was convicted and discharged.
In ilk' Supremo Court for bronkiug, entering; and limit. Edmund Harrington Ward. 25, a baker. was sentenced to throe years’ reformative detention.
