SYDNEY. November 11
Tvingsford Smith and Ulm have planned an aerial mail and passenger service on an elaborate scale between Melbourne. Sydney and Brisbane, com mi'iicng after I heir visit to America. In addition they will manufacture aircraft for defence and civil purposes. They also will probably commence an air service from Brisbane to New Guinea and Imm Melbourne to Hobart. They favour triple-engine, of eight lo fourteen passengers eaoaeitv of a similar to the Southern Cross They an! b ionic covering the journey, from Melbourne to Brisbane in fifteen hours.

Captain Hurly arrived at Calcutta at 2 p.ni.. from Rangoon. The plane did the 750 miles at an average speed of 100 miles an hour
Hurley said it was tin* best weather experienced during the flight. Ihe engine went splendidly. Obey followed the coastline the greater part of the wav. They had encountered terrible heads winds since leaving Australia. Hurley anticipated making longer flights as they got cooler air.
PLANE MISHAP
NAPIER. November 11
Captain Holt met with a slight mishap this morning with the Goodwin Chichester Aviation Coy’s Avro-Avian biplane. When landing on the ground on the outskirts of Napier, the- machine struck a rather swampy patch. The pilot endeavoured to rise again to recover, and the machine left the ground safely, hut. unfortunately, the top wires of a fence caught the under carriage, and threw liie head oi toe machine towards the ground, with the result that both blades of the propeller snapped off short. The undercarriage was badly damaged, and one wing was slightly affected. Captain Holt and his one passenger, fortunately, were uninjured. HUHkiKY’S .fOUHNUY. CALCUTTA. Nov. 11.
