“THE COUNT OF TEN/’ TO-NIGHT,
. Romance and fighting—what better ,combination for a theme could one find, and in “The Count of Ten,” the "Universal which opens at the Princess theatre to-night, these two elements are intormingled to make the picture one of the most human and interesting seen hero this season. “The Count of Ton” will be especially liked by bearing proponents as there are enough shortes of this popular sport to satisfy even the most avid fan. One scene (‘n particular seemed to please N the kidienco tremendously. It was that if Charles Ray, the lead, in a bout for the middleweight championship of the world. It had all the earmarks of 'a real championship light, and was excellently done, both from the acting and scenic standpoints. A comparatively new face, that of James Gleas-
on, was in the picture, but from the excellence Of his interpretation of the fighter’s manager, it shouldn’t be long before he will he more familiar
to- motion picture audiences. He is
known for his characterisation of the bitme kind, of )part on the stage, in his own play “Is Zat So?” Jobyna Ralston, who is remembered as Harold Lloyd’s leading lady, was just as winBome tind diminutive as ever. She is always ft favourite in any picture. The story concerns the rise of a young Prize-fighter, who has one of those tingle-track” minds, to participation an ft fight for the middleweight championship of the world. He loses the fight because of a broken hand and because of the mismanagemnt of his Supposed friends and the faithlessness
of his wife. After the fight, howover, ho is reconciled to his manager
and his wife and succeeds in winning the coveted championship. Others in the cast, which is excellent, were Arthur Lake, Edytho Chapman and Charles Sellon. A Topical and Comedy will also be JPresneted. ", On Monday the "big special “Michael Strbgoff.”
