AUCKLAND, November 8
At eleven Inst night Mrs Parkinson, while with a friend near the Supreme Court was accosted by a youth, who snatched her bag containing over £2O and bolted. He was chased and arrested with the money in his possession and will he charged in the Children’s Court.
S.S. MAORI SOLD
AUCKLAND, November 8
The steamer Maori has been sold to Arnold Bernstein of Hamburg for £23.500 and will he converted into a motor carrier.
THEFT OF MONEY and WATCH
NAPTER, Nov. 6
When John Scott arrived in Hastings from the country with a wcllfilied purse he fell in with I* rank Pepper and Thomas Martin Power, and the trio visited a number of hotels together. Subsequently the two last-named relieved Scott of £l3 and his watch, and the sequel was enacted in the Supreme Court to-day, when 'Pepper and Power were found guilty of theft, a charge of theft with violence being thrown out by the jury. Accused were remanded for sentence.
