Everybodys Pictures continue their attractive programme this evening when First National present a great adventure romance “The Cowboy itufeketeer.” Tom Tyler is the star of (the picture, which is a very attractive one o(f the wild west country, introducing' many incidents and happenings of great interest. The serial “The Return of the Riddle Kider ” will continue its interesting (Course with further chapters of great attraction and hair-breadth escapes, while a comedy and gazette will complete a specially fine programme. Coming on Saturday—“ The Count of Ten.”

Ere-ncti settlers are said now to be their Government for a •division of the New Hebrides archipelago between the two nations, and a French publicist has been endorsing this proposal the suggestion being that France should take the northern group which she has done most to develop, .and Britain the southern group. The Presbyterian Church of Australia, -which has important missions in the islands, has- been much concerned for an improvement of their system of govrnmnt/ but it did not welcome this suggestion when the matter was being discussed a few yean? ago. Partition, it was declared, would lead to endless strife. And it has been placed" ori recoi’d by the Australian Govern ment that the only change of political status which it could favour would be control by Great Britain alone, or if more acceptable to France, by Australia, or bv Australia and New Zealand in conjunction. France could be compensated for surrender for her Tights by and exchange of territory elsewhere. But that exchange does not promise to be easy to arrange, ami the probabilities are that we shall hear much more discussion of the condominium before any solution of the problem can find mutual approval—“ Star Dunedin.
