Air J. O’Brien will address the electors at the Princess Theatre this evening. and gives a hearty invitation to members of the Westland Hospital ■Board and members of the Westland County Council and also to the organisers of Mr T. E. Y. Seddon’s candidature and representatives of the Hokitika “Guardian.” Air O’Brien will make statements and invite members of the local bodies to either substantiate or refute them. Plenty of time will lie allowed for questions and all questioners will be answered courteously, without any display of heat or anger.—Advt.

Arrested at Grey mouth on Tuesday, a young man, Joshua Thomas Carson, appeared before Air F. H. Kilgour J.P., at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, and was charged with indecently assaulting a female, on November sth. Sergeant J. Smyth, in asking for a' remand until Monday, stated that the police would then be prepared to go on with the case. Meanwhile, he opposed bail, as the circumstances were rather strong against the accused. In any event, accused had to servo a month’s imprisonment, as he had not paid the fine of £5 imposed on him a few weeks ago for assaulting a little girl at Greymouth. Accused, who was not represented by counsel, made no objection to the proposed remand, and it was granted, bail not being allowed.
