Princess Alary inspected fi.AI.S. Canberra ai Portsmouth. Thousands witnessed the hurried progress to the dockyard’s cooking devices. Ihe interested Princess keenly looked o\ei the simmering stews and laughingly remarked that the old song is trm\ A sailor’s life is the life for me. The Princess was intrigued h.v the electromegaphones, whereby a command issued from one place is audible everywhere. She commented eiiiogistically on the recreation facilities and 'from the quarter-deck watched seven hundred oilicers and men march past to the Mine of “ Hearts of Oak.” She remarked on the splendid looking crew and then lunched with the captain and senior officers, also signing the visitors’ book.

The Princess presented a silver rose bowl inscribed: ‘’Good luck the Canberra and all who sail her. ■' Hie Princess descended tin* gangway the crew gave rousing cheers and the Princess smilingly waved her hand. She afterwards inspected the A iclory alongside.
