The English tennis team played ex? hibition games against local Maori and Pakeha players before a large gathering of the public. Six matches were played, the Englishmen winning all without the Joss of a seat. Sparkling tennis was shown, the local players being outclassed by the brilliant visitors. A special feature was the exhibition of doubles between Austin and Gregory and Higgs and Collins. Results; were:— •

Singles: Austin beat Jones 6—l, 6—2. Gregory teat E. Howell 6—o;, G—2. Collins beat Ehau 6—l, 6—-I. Higgs beat Turei 6—l, 6—l. Roubles: Austin and Gregory’ beat Jones and Ehau 6—2. 6—2. Higgs and Collins beat Ehau and Turei 6—l, 6— -0:
