LM I'ORTATIOX dkntf.d. (i>y Telegraph—Press Association). AYKSTPORT. Nov. 2. In refernoco to the press reports regarding the importation of smokeless fuel for New Zealand railways. Mr (Jerald Hamilton, attorney of the Sensilo Heat Distillation Ltd. of London, who is at present in 'Westport, says ho wishes to make it perfectly clear that his company has no intention of importing iI L. and N.’ ! fuel into Now Zealand. The sole object of his visit is to discover to what extent the “L. and X." process can he developed in the Dominion by treatment of New Zealand lignites and bituminous coals. The negotiations to which references have appeared in the press were in reference with their policy, and related to supplying part of the New Zealand railways’ needs with smokeless “L. and X.” fuel made from New Zealand coal.
