GENERAL ELECTION

AIR SEDDON’S OAAIPAIGN.

Yesterday Mr Seddon had a very full day touring as much of*the electorate as was possible in the time. In the forenoon he visited Blue Spur and Humphreys. Later in the day he went to Arahura. and Awatuna, and at 5 o’clock he spoke at Goldslvorough Hall; 6.30 at Stafford and 8.30 One Milo Road, Arahura Valley. It was late at night when he returned to town. At the Goldsborough meeting, Mr W. Routhan was in the chair. Mr fceddon’s address was of a topical nature and was well received. A vote of thanks and confidence was adopted unanimously on the motion of Mr Alartin, seconded by Mr Fitzgerald. At Stafford, at the request of Air Lyons, Air T. W. Duff, an ex-resident, took the chair, and introduced the candidate. Air Seddon spoke on general and local matters, ami was accorded thanks and confidence on a motion moved by Air B. Lyons and seconded by Air Aluiuly. There was a very representative attendance of settlers at the Arahura Valley meeting practically all the district being represented. Afr B. Ward discharged the duties of Chairman very happily, giving Mr Seddon not only a cordial lint also flattering introduction. Afr Soddon’s speech, which followed general lines, was well received and closely listened to. The various matters mentioned were of interest to a farming community. At the close of the address thanks and confidence was carried very heartily on a motion moved liv Airs Douglas and seconded by Mr J. Havill.

To-day at 11.30 Air Seddon spoke at the Dispatch Foundry, Greymouth, and returns to Hokitika this afternoon to speak to-night at Rimu, Woodstock and Kanieri. Alonday’s meetings will ho in the Kokatahi-Koitorangi district, and the remainder of the week will he spent in South AYestand, on dates advertised in this issue.
