The special inquiry officer, .•Munition, appointed for the inquiry into tlio working of the amended Commonwealth arbitration is being boycotted by Labour Union officials. He is not allowed to make investigations on the ground that lie accompanied the industrial Mission to America in defiance of the Lafbour Councils of tlio various States.

The police have been advised that John Drandoii Parker, aged 2q, who escaped from Darlinglnirst lock-up after being sentenced to four years penal servitude for burglary, lias been arrested at Bordeaux (France) whither he journeyed on a German steamer on which he stowed away.
