MELBOURNE, Nov. 1
Captain Hurley left Owlnadatta at 0.30 o’clock this morning in the Spirit of Australia, South Australian time. Ho left with the intention of reaching Wyndham to-night. The monoplane passed over the Alice Springs, iii Central'Australia, at nine o’clock. Sydney time. She had then nearly one thousand miles to cover. A later message stated that there were strong head winds, which would probably cause a stoppage for the night at Halv Waters. Captain Hurley states that he is weary of the desert sights, the heat, and the droughty, desolate stock runs.
Hurley says that he and his companions were cordially received at Oodnadatta by the whites, the AFghans, and Aboriginals, the goats and the clogs. Hurley’s howler had created more fun among the Afghans and the Abos than did the monoplane. The distance from Sydney to Wyncilia m is 2113 miles.

Owing to telegraphic interruption it is not known 'whether Hurley landed at Daly Waters. SYDNEY, Nov. 2. Hurley landed at Daly Waters and is remaining over the night.
