“ SENOR RAREDEYII, FRIDAY

What is the perennial appeal of the “Western” picture? Aeocrding to Charles B. Rogers, produced of “Senor Daredevil,” it is the fact that there is in the heart of nearly every man a longing, secret or avowed, to escape from the fetters of modern industria or social life, the repressions olf cities and towns, and get out to where soli tudo may he had at the price of a half hour’s walk or ride. The appeal of the Western picture, which seems never to fail, is not alone for the dweller in the crowded cities. We should hear in mind that perhaps three-fourths of the population of the United States is crowded into that part of the country’s area lying east <;if the "Mississippi. Even the country dwellers in that territory can get. a great thrill out of the people and customs of the real West. In other words, the stories of the West are the folk-literature, the hero-drama, the romance of America. Ken Maynard. the star of “ Senor Daredevil,” is quite fitted by nature to he the hero of such stories. In this picture he has Dorothy Devore as featured lady, supported by a cast of the screen’s most popular players. The picture was directed by Albert Rogell, and production supervised by Harry J. Brown. The story and continuity are by Marion Jackson. “Senor Daredevil,” which is a First National picture, screens at the Princess on Friday.

A topical, comedy, and further chapters eif the serial also will be shown on Frida v.
