As an, outcome of widespread criticism of a system whereby motor'driving licenses are issued to .deaf, blind and epileptics indiscriminately, l London County Council is finally considering whether a test of physical fitness should be imposed. DAMAGES GRANTED. , . LONDON, October 30. . ; The... music..,..hqljv performer,. FJpra Cromer, was awarded £250 damages against Alhambra |Qo.y for its refusal to allow her to perform. In September. 1923 she had just returned from a lengthy tour in Australia, and the second night at Alhambra while she was awaiting to appear, the manager told her to pack up and get out. Sir Oswald Stall gave evidence that Cromer’s items were completely out of sympathy with the programme and the audience.’- t Cromer knew her'turn had fallen flat.
