FLY TO BERMUDA

NEW YORK, Oct. 28,

Lyon, Lancaster arid George Palmer Putman, a noted publisher and explorer hopped off on a flight to Bermuda, cabled yesterday. Putman, who is understood to he financing the flight took the place of Mrs Miller. The plane is carrying sufficient petrol for eighteen hours. The journey, if without incident, should not consume more than ten hours. "Much"surprise was expressed at the lateness of the departure, which occurred at 1.30 in the afternoon. and due to the shortness of the autumnal day, the'flight’will be made for the greater part in darkness

THE GR AF ZEPPELIN

ON RETURN TO GERMANY

NEW 'YORK, Oct, 29

A message from LakGiurst, New Jersey, states that the Graf Zeppelin started on her return flight to Germany at 1.54 o’clock this (Monday) morning.

She is expected to follow the Northern Great Circle course. The complete flight will take her fifty flours. There are sixty persons aboard, including seven passengers, amongst whom is one woman.

NEW YORK, October 29. A message from Chatham, Massachusetts, states the zeppeliri passed seaward at 6.35 a.m. THE PLANE FORCED DOWN. MONTREAL, Oct. 25. A message from Atlantic City, New Jersey', states that Lancaster’s plane was forced down in shallow water through engine trouble. It stuck in the mud, necessitating an hour’s work to extricate it, after which it flew to the air jjort, where Lancaster stated he .intends to fly to the Naval Air Station at Hampton Roads to-morrow, to repair the motor thoroughly. He will then. proceed to Bermuda.
