THE LONDON
RUGBY, October 25. The latest ship in the Navy to bear the name London is now undergoing her trials, the result of which will be kept secret in accordance with, modern Admiralty practice. As soon as the trials are completed, the London is to go out to the Mediterranean as the flagship of one of the cruiser-squadrons tli ere. She is one of the 10,000-ton County class, and not one of the SOOO-ton Cities. London has always been very keenly interested in ships named after it, which have been numerous, both armed merchantmen and ships of the regular Navy. The last warship of the name was an 18-knot battleship ol 15,000 tons, which distinguished itself in the Dardanelles in 1915, and afterwards co-operated with the, Italian Fleet at Taranato. After the Armistice she was broken up.
