BYRD EXPEDITION

N.Z. ARRANGEMENT

DUNEDIN, Oct. 27

Commander Byrd’* Antarctic expedition ships have now altered their course. A radio message from Commander Byrd states that the steamer Larsen is carrying supplies for the expedition, and is putting in at AVellmgton.

Fifteen men of the expedition, including tho business manager,. Mr Richard Brophy, are aboard the Larsen .

The members of tbe expedition will stay in Dunedin before leaving for the Antarctic.

BYRD’S BIRTHDAY. VANCOUVER, October 27. Aboard tlie Larsen on the 25th Commander Byrd celebrated his fortieth birthday. There was a merry evening, toasts and skits on Antarctic flying. The Larsen is due at Wellington on November sth.
