POSTPONED OWING TO RAIN

CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 27
Owing to heavy rain, Banks Peninsular races were postponed till Monday, and also the tennis match.
“ RINGING IN CASE.
THE DISQUALIFIED MEN.
SYDNEY, October 25
The five men who were disqualified for life for ringing in as Algoa the gelding Silent Gold at Mudgee races are McLachlan, the owner; T. Craigie, the-trainer, and his two' sons; and Whitebread, the jockey. The two Craigies and Whitebread have furnished .affidavits that Silent Gold was in a Mascot stable on the day of the race. McLachlan and the horse cannot be located. .
Mr R. C. Allan, the A.J.C. committeeman who was mentioned, is interested in the horse as mortgagee 1 . He is in ho way implicated.
