The Poverty Bay Turf Clob’s spring meeting opened at Makarakß- to-day in dull weather. The going was good. The tote took £9,784, against £9.60? on the corresponding day last year. Results:—

First Hurdles.—(2) Jen 1, (1) Highway 2, (4) Rocket Car 3. Won by five lengths; fifteen lengths. Time 2.50. Roseland Hack.—(2) Mosque 1, (4) Mangaharei 1, (3) Rapiata 3. Won by two lengths; half a length. Time 1.16. Spring Handicap.—(3) Polonett 1, (1) Superb King 2 } (2) Cool Card 3. Won by a nose ; two and a-half lengths. Time 2.10.
Taunaha Handicap.—(l) Singleton 1, (4) Princess Rata 2, (2) Lipsql 3. Won by seyen lengths ; three lengths. Time 1.31. Maidep Scurry-—(1) Qtene Rich Harvest 2, (3) Noahuni 3. One mul a-half lengths each way. lime 1.17.
