ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 24. The entries were nominal, and in some cases smaller, to-day. Reef. —There were 500 head forward, which met a keen demand, with a hardening tendency. The market opened at 30s and 40s per head above last week’s rates. The quality was good. Steers sold: —Best £2O to £23 12s 6d, prime £l6 10s to £lB Iss, medium and light £ll 10s 4d to £ls 15s. Heifers sold:—Heavy £l6 to £lB, prime £l3 5s to £l4 10s; medium and light £7 10s to £ll. Cows sold:— Heavy £l4 10s to £l6, prime £l.l 15s to £l3; medium, and light ; £6 10s to £lO ss. J Mutton.—A small yarding found prices on a par with the late rates, and in seme cases a shade firmer. Wethers sold:—Best 43s to 525; medium 30s to 42s 6d; light and shorn 27s to 425. /Ewes sold -.—Best 38s 6d to 44(5, medium 33s to 37s 6d, light 28s to 325; extra heavy to 51s 4d. Shorn eives sold to 40s. , 'Store sheep.—There was a very small entry, made up of one or two pens of ewes and, lambs, and the balance shorn wethers and a few hoggets. The hoggets were easier. Wethers were in demand. Ewes and lam'frs were eagerly competed for. Hoggets sold to 40s 3d; half bred Wethers in wool to 33s id, and the same shorn 22s to 255.... . ,

Lambs;—The total entry was 307. 'Prices were ,1s per head below last week. The best valued 35s to 37s lOd. good 33s to 34s 9d, medium 29s and 33s fid, light 25s to 27s 6d. Pigs,—There was a large entry of pork: Values were on a par with late rates, as was also the case in the bacon section, with a dragging tendency. Choppers sold 30s to 48s 6d, light pork 33s to 365, medium 38s to 455, heavy 4.8 s to 555,, extra to 62s 6d. The average was 6£d to 7id per lb. Light bacon sold from 58s to 625, medium 65s to £3 10s; heavy £3 15s to £4: extra to £4 10s. The average was sfd to 6id per lb.
