SEAMEN THREATEN TO MAKE TROUBLE. (Australian Press Association). i (United Service). MELBOURNE, Oct. 23. The seamen are again shaping to make trouble, refusing steam to nonunion watersidors, while the Union members are not allowed to offer at the pick-up. The seamen contended the terms of resumption have been broken. There is a likelihood of a New Zealand steamer being held up.

A SERIOUS AFFAIR. SYDNEY, October 24. Detectives here are investigating the death of a young married woman, whose body after exhumation during the week-end, disclosed unmistakable traces of deadly poison. Her husband re-married nine days after her death. The utmost secrecy is observed as to the identity of the parties, but an arrest is imminent.
WATERSIDE FEDERATION’S FINE. MELBOURNE, October 24.
The thousand pound fine imposed on the Waterside Federation automatically became due yesterday, no appeal having been lodged. The Federal At-torney-General has not indicated what steps will he taken to recover the line. G. Mote, President of the Marine Stewards Union, declared union men are being starved off the wharves. He wanted to know whether the Fed.eial Government stood for “ this vicious and vindictive policy.”
