SELF-MUTILATION CHARGE. LONDON, Aug. 22. At a district court-martial at Aidershot yesterday Rifleman Robert Victor Cook, of the Ist Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles, was charged with selfmutilation hy cutting off the middle finger of his right hand and mutilatng the index finder of the same hand with a. bread-knife on July 12. 'Phe defence was that Cook was subject to enilepsv and was not responsible for his action. Major Harris, Royal Army Medical Corns, said it was possible that while in a fit Cook could have so injured himself, and Cook’s medical sheet showed tßat he had suffered from headaches and depressions. Cook was honourably acquitted.
