LIMERICK DOING WELL. NEW ZEALANDERS RETURN FROM SYDNEY. WELLINGTON, Oct. 16. Limerick arrived from Sydney today in charge of F. D. Jones. The Limond gelding has done well since he was thrown out of training, but while a complete recovery is eventually expected it will be some time before lie is again prepared for racing. R. Reed, who went across to c todnev to ride Limerick in his engagements at Randwiek following upon M. MeCarten’s suspension, returned home by the Ulimaroa. In addition to resuming riding for the, Jefferd stable, Reed will have the mount on Gav Ballerina in the Taita Handicap at Trentham on Saturday. He rede this,filly when she ran third in the Gimcrack Stakes at Randwiek. A. D. Webster returned home today with First Acre, Moutoa Wonder, and Greenfield. The light-weight iockev, T. Webster, accompanied his father, and on Saturday at* Trentham he will ride Kilperon, Kilbronsyth, and Black Mint. Young Webster did well in Sydney, riding seven winners and earning the praise of good judges for his riding.
J. MeCombe, the Riccarton trainer, and E. Stanway, tlie Auckland jockey, returned home by the Ulimaroa from Sydney, to-day.
CAULFIELD RACES. (Australian Press Association). MELBOURNE, October 17. The weather was fine and bright for the second day of the Caulfield races, and the attendance was large. The going was good.
