GOLFING.

(By Telegraph—Press Association). DUNEDIN, October 15. . Interest is increasing in the amateur championships. Dr Ross and Sloan Morpeth are equal favourites ,and justifiably so, as in their play there is little, if anything, between ttiem, and the doctor has a perfect local knowledge to assist him against Morpeth’s brilliance.

Horton and Sime are equal second favourites, and close on them is Goss. Mclntosh and Shaw are equal favourites among the professionals. With no further rain and a still day to-morrow, there should be a display of golf in keeping with the occasion. DUNEDIN, Oct. 15.
