ANNUAL MEETING * The annual meeting of shareholders was held in the County Chambers-on Saturday at 2. 33 p.m. Air. B. Ward Chairman of Directors presided over an attendance of nine. members. The minutes of the last annual nieetim» were read and confirmed. O f V ANNUAL REPORT. The Directors have pleasure in submiting to the shareholders the Annual Balance Sheet from which will be seen the season, ended has been a record one, the amount of butter produced, 106 tons, 3 cwt., being-21 tons, 11 cwt. more than the preceding . season. Ihe antpunt of cream received was 513,325 lbs, producing 210,7871 bs butter-fat, from which was produced as above. .106 tons, 3 cwt. of butter.
The average price paid for butter-fat it 16.79 pence per lb and the price for finest averaged 16.98 pence. We regret that we have lost the services of our manager, Air M. H. "Wallace, who has accepted a Government appointment. Mr Wallace maintained the usual high quality in the output and we have every confidence that our new manager, Air Ward Bennitt, will sustain the reputation of the factory. The increase in output was mainly in the Arahura Valley supply,, due partly to the fine season but mainly to thp improved farming methods. Important additions and alterations have been made to the factory. A new freezer has been installed and arrangements made for running the factory by electric power. The Directors recommend the usual six per cent dividend. The Directors retiring are: Hon. H. L. Michel, Messrs J. Havill and H. Jones, ail of whom are eligble for re-election, as is also the Auditor, Afr AVild.
The annual report and balance sheet was taken as read. The Chairman complimented shareholders on the very successful past season. r lhe output had been a record one. They had started with 12 ton output and last year was 106 tons, an increase of 21 tons odd over the previous year which was a record. The season last year saw a very fine one. He had to congratulate the farmers on the-fine quality of their pastures, which had showed great improvement, caused he thought, by top dressing, which bad had a very successful result. The top dressing not. only increased the grassibut it was appreciated .also, hv the stock.. The price for butter fat compares very- favourably •with the returns of other factories.' The quality of their butter was-fully maintained. The factory itsef was better today than ever. He had to congratulate their new manager on the excellent condition of the machinery and plant. The new freezer was a fine- piece of machinery. The usual 6 per cent, dividend would be declared. Hon. H. L. Mi chi, Messrs Havill and Jones retire from the Directorate, and are eligible for re-elotion. The former haA ben a director since the formation of the company. He would ask the meeting to re-elect the three gentlemen. He moved the reception and adoption of the report and balance sheet. Seconded by Mr D. Bradley and agreed to. The retiring directors, and auditor (Afr R. Wild). were re-elected. The meeting then terminated.
