EVENT PASSES' OFF PEACEFULLY. (United Press Association—By Electric Te legr aph— Copy ri gh t). VIENNA, Oct. 7. Thanks largely to the military precan lions the riA’al Fascist and Socialist demonstrations passed off peacefully. All entrances to Wienerueustadt, except the main gates, Avere barricaded Avitli barbed wire. Fifteen machine guns Avere posted in the principal Square and shock troops Aver© equipped with gas masks, grenades Avere held in readiness and cavalry guarded the anger points. The Fascists started first at 9 a.m., Avhen thirteen thousand marched in procession carrying eleven flags and 11 banners accompanied by twelve bands. A moderate crowd cheered the procession which traversed the main Square saluting the leaders. The-pro-cession reached the place of assembly outside the town at 10.30 a.m. Simultaneously about sixteen thousand Socialists, Avitb country delegations totalling altogether nineteen thousand, assembled in the Square and listened to the speeches till tAA'O o’clock. Thus the rivals Avere effectively kept apart and both' gatherings dispersed quietly. A downpour of rain at 3 p.m. dampened any remaining ardour. Several Communists attempting to address the Socialist croAvd Avere arrested, othei-Avise the proceedings passed without incident.
