J. C. WILLIAMSON LTD. COMEDY COMPANY COMING. “ A CUCKOO IN THE NEST.” TO-AIORROW NIGHT. The J. C. Williamson Ltd. Now English Comedy Company, which has made • itself immensely popular everywhere, will stage for the first time here hen Travers' delightfully humorous and very original farce-comedy “ A Cuckoo in the Nest,” which created something approaching a sensation m Sydney, where it enjoyed a record run. Thai “A Cuckoo in the Nest” is a comedy right out of the ordinary is proved by the fact that it lias been successful whereier it has been staged. Those who have read Ben Travers' hook and there are Hew readers who have not, will wish to see the play. The Princess Theatre is certain to he taxed to its capacity. The funniest scene in the play, is, of course, the scene at the “Stag and Hunt” Inn. There it is discovered that there is only one bedroom available, and through a series off misunderstandings, permitted mainly because of the fear of Peter Wykebam and Mrs Margaret Hickett of the landlady, they are mistaken for husband and wife, and compelled to spend tue night in tins room. The cleverness of the dramatist is displayed by the fact that the situation never becomes offensive, only screamingly humorous. Mr Hastings Lynn is said to excel him seif as Peter Wykebam. He gave us a taste of his rare talents in “ Rookery Nook,” and he i§ already an established favourite with Aucklanders. So is Miss Minnie Eayner, who appears tomorrow evening as Mrs Spoker, landlady of the “ Stag and Hunt.” Miss Helens Si me n is said to be delightful as Margaret Hieektt, in which part she scored an outstanding success in Australia Mr Cyril Vernon, it is said, gives one of the finest characterisations in the play, as Major Hone. Miss Willa Lyndberg, as Suzette, and Mr Willie Clifton as Alfred, will make their first appearnee in Hokitika. Others in the cast are Basil Radford. Jane Comfort, Leslie Victor, Victor Fitzherbert, 'Beth Mackey, Alec Ives and Nellie Mortvne. The staging and furnishings are features olf the production.
