BRITISH ELECTIONS

(Australian Press Association). (United Service). LONDON, October 6. The “ Daily Express ” understands that Mr J. Ramsay MacDonald (Leader of the Opposition in the House of commons) has protested to the Home Office respecting the publication of what is described as a secret and confidential police report on his (Mi MacDonald’s) own activities between the years 1916 and 1921. Editorially, the “ Daily Express ” states: “If it were thought to repeat of the Zinovieff letter, the plot has completely miscarried. There must always be a black mark against Mr MacDonald’s name that he gave comfort To the enemy, instead of his own country; but let us keep the coming general election clear from personalities, red herrings and ‘Red’ letters.”
