HOKITIKA BOXING CLUB
The meeting called on Friday was well attended, thb number of enthusiasts and supporters -exceeding all expectations. Mr R. Furness opened the meeting bv briefly explaining its object was to* form a Club to foster amateur boxing and gymnastics. -Nominations for President resulted in Mr F. McGregor taking the chair. The election of officers resulted : Patron, H. M. Coulson ; President. F. McGregor; Vice-t’rosi-dent, J. J. B reeze sen.; Secretary. E. M. Best; Treasurer. F- Ballinger; Committee. R. Furness, J. Turner, R. Dowell, E. W'/Heenan. J. Rutland. Gymnasium instructor, R. Furness. It was decided to name the Club the Hokitika Amateur Boxing and Gym n asti c Cl üb. The meeting then adjourned Into committee to report to a meeting to be advertised in this, paper.
