VALUELESS CHEQUES. DANNEVIRKE, October 5. George Edward Bernsee, a young married man. at present in custody cheoue frauds, came before a Justicf to-day on tliree additional charges o obtaining money by false pretences by means of valueless cheques. In* amount involved was £3l. Aecuset tendered cheques signed by James Gray, the name of his former employee, since dead, to two hotel licenses and to a shopkeeper, receiving sub stantial change in each case. Ho pleaded guilty, and was commit ted to the Supreme Court for sentence CHARGED WITH THEFT. THAMES, October 5.
