A THEATRICAL WEDDING
COHEN—DAVIES. LONDON, August 24. ' A theatrical wedding celebrated in London last week has a New Zealand interest, for the bridegroom was Mr Harry' I. Cohen, son of the late Mr Albert Cohen, of the “Evening Star,” Dunedin. To Londoners, perhaps, the interest attached mainly to the very beautiful little bride, Edna Davies, a young actress who has played in several of Mr Cohen’s productions, and recently has been pleasing the theatre oublic as the 1 charming ingenue heroine in “ Tell Me the Truth,” which has been running at the Comedy Theatre.
Mr Cohen’s rise to comparative fame has been unusually rapid. His part in producing “The Ghost Train,” wlwh was such a great success, gave him his first lift. A great deal of money must have been made out of the play, of which, no doubt, he had his share. His second venture was another of Mr Mid-ley’s-mystery plans, “The Wrecker.'’ In this Miss Edna Davies played lead opposite Mr George Mulcaster. Then followed “ Madame X ” and “ Tell Me the Truth.”
The marriage was a quiet family affair in the big room of a registry office off . the Strand. Mr E. J. Carroll '.the Australian producer) was the chief witness. Others present were the bride’s mother and Miss Pauline Frederick, Miss Helena Pickard, Miss Edith Savile, Mysis Ivy Sparrow, Mr i edric Hardwioke, and Dr David V. Bradlaw. The bride was dressed in a very pretty shell pink tulle dress, with mauve orchids at her waist, and wore a pink picture hat. After the ceremony there was a reception at Claridge’s. The following day the couple left for their honeymoon for Venice and Naples. On their return Mr Cohen is to pioduce the play “Passengers,” by the Australian writer, Mr Dale Collins, of Melbourne,
