LIMERICK LAME. MAY NOT START IN RAND WICK PLATE, Australian Press Assn.—United Service SYDNEY, Oct. 2. F. E. Jones, the trainer of Limerick states that thq gelding, alter galloping to-dav, showed signs of lameness when he cooled down. This, apparently, is the recurrence of Iris old trouble in the near foreleg. A poultice was applied, but it will not be known untill to-morrow whether Limerick will race in the Craven Plate. Even if Limerick does not start in the Craven Plate, it is not certain if he will participate in the Randwiel Plate on Saturday. In this event there is little possibility of the champion going to Melbourne. SALE OF HORSES. SYDNEY, Oct. 2. At to-day’s racehorse sales, Murillo and Herald a. realised 800 guineas each.
