NATIVE CLASHES
IN INDIAN CIRCLES. (United Press Association—By Electric ' Telegraph—Copyright). (Received this day at 9.25. a.m.) DELHI, Sept. 30. Serious clashes occurred between Hindus and Mohammedans, . resulting in a large number of casualties at the celebrations at the Ganpati Hindu festival, in centres of Bambay-Province at Surat and Nasik. Several police officers, including Europeans were injured in attempting to separate fanatical religious opponents at Nassik. Hundreds attacked a mosque while Moslems were at prayer, A mob of ten thousarid assembled and a threatening situation developed, but the crowd were persuaded to disperse. At Surat the police wore forced to open fire and disperse tlie rioters, who stoned a Hindu procession. There were many casualties, and a tense situation prevails. There was rioting also at Poona where Moslems refused to obey the police order to disperse and a fracas between Sikhs and Moslems at Hyderabad in Deccan, to which place armed troops have been sent.
