CORRESPONDENCE.

A RIVER FERRY. (To the Editor.) . pn the published report of the last County Council meeting, I notice where mention was made concerning the Karairigarua River Ferry and that a member moved and the motion was carried that the termination of the ferry service take place at the end of the year. Is this not a very unwise action for the Council to take, especially in view of the fact there is an increasing tendency in the numbei of visitors, especially strangers, in the future. With this is coupled the largeness of the river and the unusual width of its river bed, to any nothing of the importance of the changeable nature of its fords. This river should be flagged as there is little else for strangers to go by as the approach to the river bed cannot be seen from the other .side, and the telephone line is dangerously misleading. I am etc, ERIC JAMES. Makaroa, Sept. 24th.
