WELLINGTON, Sept. 27.
Mr Ti E. Y. Seddpn,VM.P., and Mr D. J. Evans (County Clerk) waited on the Minister of Public. Works regarding repairs to Teremakau Bridge, for which the local 'Bodies involved J in control asked a subsidy of 30 s for22os. The repairs are estimated to cost <6750. ' ' ‘ - T> . :
The Minister received the deputation favourably and conferred With Mr OP. W. Furkert (Engineer-in-Clpef) who expressed the view, that ; 'the bridge was go important thatit should be kept up. J The Minister indicated a grant of £450. Would be made if funds were„ available in the renewal vote of-the Consolidated Fund, and deputed ,Mr Furkert to investigate.

Mr Evans took the opportunity to thank the Minister for the highly important pronouncement regarding the Main South Road extension, which would he a great -(b00n,... and open up a wonderful touring yoad. COUNTY CLERKS INSTITUTE. Mr Evans was elected representative of the West ; Coast and .Nelson district on. the : New Zealand Institute of Couiity Clerks, formed yesterday. Mr BlootnfieWi,' of Nelson, was appointed chairman of the district and Reef top the meeting centre for the .district, and Mr WV B. . Au}d - was recommended as secretary for the district. ' . .
