Bathgate’s estimate of the world wheat crop, which is probably a record for export. United States production is' 11.5* million quarters which is half a million above the previous record and is likely to show ah exportable surplus of at least - thirty-five millions. The world’s balance sheet of tho season ending 31st July, 1929, shows supplies 145 millions; requirements of importing countries 96 millions, leaving a surplus of 49 milions, whereto must 4>e \ added 35 millions, the surplus carried forward on 31st July, 1928, making a <rross surplus for two seasons of 85 million above all requirements.
