LICENSING' ACT. On charges of being on licensed premises during prohibited hours con-; - victions were recorded as follows : i Two offenders (Red Lion Hotel) one l, fined 20s and costs 10s and the other ordered to pay costs 10s. Two offenders (Club Hotel) ordered to pay costs 10s eaclft

Charged with procuring liquor while prohibited an offender was convicted and fined £1 and costs 10s. Similarly charged another prohibited person was fined os and costs 10s. On a charge of being found on licensed premises a fine of 5s -and costs 10s was, inflicted. MOTOR VEHICLES ACT. W. Lakin charged with leaving a motor car on the wrong side of the street was fined os and costs 10s.

H. O’Brien, charged with driving a motor car not having proper lights at night, pleaded not guilty. and costs 10s. A. Chapman was charged ing a passenger on his motor sitting astride.' Fined 5s and costs || 10s. P

BOROUGH BYE-LAWS. International Harvester Coy. was charged by the Borough Inspector (Mr Park) with leaving a motor vehicle in the street at night ; without a light. Fined 5s and costs 20s 6d. A. Sutherland for riding a cycle at night without a light was fined 5s and costs 22s 6d. ‘ ; ' v“. 1 L. G.., Stop forth was charged with driving a motor car and not observing the rules of the road. Preston was charged with allowing a motor vehicle to stand without a j proper light. Fined 5s and costs 20s ,6d. 1 RAILWAY REGULATIONS. The police charged E. Walsh wrDi. leaving a moving train and with board- -*■ ing a moving train at Kumara Junction. Defendant did not appear. After p evidence of the guard was given, defendant Was fined 5s and costs 10s on one charge and convicted and ordered to pay costs 10s on the second charge.
