COMING OF AGE
THE “DOMINION” CELEBRATES. GIFTS TO THE EDITOR. WELLINGTON, Sept. 24. On Saturday evening a gathering of the combined staffs of the ‘Dominion” was held to celebrate the eoming-of-age of the paper, and to do honour to Mi C. W. Earle, editor-m chief and managing director, who hat* held the editorial chair ever since the inception of the paper in 1907. A presentation on belief of the combined staff was made u> Mr Earle, and also one to Airs Earle. Opportunity was also taken by the directors to make a presentation to Mr Earle to mark the occasion. The gift from the staff to Mr Earle was a. handsome canteen of cutlery, and to . Mrs Earle a crysW electric table lamp. The chairman then presented to Mr Earle a silver cigarette box on bohall of the directors, expressing the hope that in years to come lie would, on reading tlie inscription, not forget the ties which had existed m the years gone by. and the friendship they had for each other.
