ACTION TO PREVENT DUMPING. (Australian Press Association). ~-T i (United; (Received this day a|fc 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sep." 261 ; Drastic action is being taken by the Government Stock Department of Australia to prevent dumping of inferior stud sheep from New Zealand the Commonwealth, which at present is the; subject of negotiations among, the authorities concerned.
Correspondence has . been received here from the New Zealand Minister ot Agriculture stating steps are being taken to remove the cause of/complaint with a view to protecting breeders in Australia and reputable breeders > in New Zealand. , r The suggestion is made that- there should be an export tax of two guineas per head on stnd sheep y leaving the Dominion, but there is a feeling that the payment of such a tax would notbe justified on stud sheep. The outcome of Australian representations to New Zealand authorities Is ’ awaited.
