MONSTER PLANE. GERMAN ENTERPRISE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). BERLIN, September 23. The Junkers firm are constructing a new monoplane, the wings of which wil hold both engines and passengers. The wing span will be tho large one of 164 feet. The thickness of the wings near the fuselage will be eight feet, thus accommodating the passengers’ cabins. The machine will be equipped with four 900-horse-power motors, accessible always for the mechanics. The navigating cabin will be in the fore part and will hold two pilots. The monoplane will firstly be used for the land, and later will be adapted to alight on the water.
CAPTURED BY BANDITS. (Received this day at 8 a.m.), LONDON, Sept. 24. Blanche Tobin, prisonered by Chinese bandits, between Canton and Kwerlin, is a New Zealander, under the auspices of the Church of,England Zenana Mission. She was lately on furlough in New Zealand. She was apparently captured when going to her station at Kwerlin.

After experimenting for six years Captains Moraldea and Castillo have perfected an aircraft gun which is capable of launching, by compressed gas, without any explosion or recoil, a projectile resembling an aerial torpedo. KING ALFONSO’S ACTION. LONDON, Sept. 24. The Spanish Ambassador met King Alfonso, who arrived rfom Scotland at Boston, and informed him of the Madrid tragedy. King Alfonso received the news with great emotion and instructed the Embassy to convey his sympathy to the families of the victims. King Alfonso is leaving for Paris on 25th. October. Whilst in London he will not attend amusements. He has ordered a funeral mass on 25th. October at Saint James Spanish Place. > CONLIN REMANDED. LONDON, Sept. 24. Thousands thronged the Court when Conlin was charged with the murder of the Kirbys. He was remanded for eight days. He swooned and six constables carried him to the cell. LEAGUE HAPPENINGS. GENEVA, Sept. 24. The Third Committee forwarded the resolution of the Assembly affirming the necessity for limitation and reduction of armaments. Costa Rico announced she is. resuming membership of the League. WHEAT PRICES. LONDON, September 24. Wheat cargoes, in sympathy with American and Canadian advices, are film at the recent advance, but buyers refuse to pay prices. Parcels are in moderate request at late rates.
