POPE SHIELD. DULLER LADIES BEAT NELSON. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WESTPORT, Sept. 22. A ladies hockey match for the Pope Shield, held by Buller, with Nelson as challengers, was played on Victoria Square this afternoon. The ground was very heavy from intermittent showers most of the day. Buller proved the better team under the conditions, and won !b\& 6 goals to nil.
INTER-PROVINCIAL GAME, WELLINGTON. Sept. 22. In the men’s hockey New Zealand challenge shield match, Wellington beat Poverty Bay by 4 goals to nil.
