The course was very ' eavy. and nearly every race was run in heavy rain. x,ie poor attendance was reflected in the totalisator receipts for the day, which totalled £26,9107, „ s against £54,759$ fob the corresponding day of last year, when’the meeting was lielcl at Ellerslie,' a decrease of £27,840. TOTE DECLINES AT RANDWICK. SYDNEY, September 23. Owing to there being a gradual diminution of the totalisator investment on the Randwick course throughout the past year, the New South Wales Cabinet lias authorised the Australian Jockey Club to revert to its; former basis .for the distribution of dividends, namely, sixty per cent for the second and third horses. The present distribution is fifty per cent, thirty per cent .and twenty per cent.
N*Z. HORSES SOLD. SYDNEY, September 23. Though New Zealand owners and trainers find races difficult to- win in New South Wales, they find a ready market for their charges. Tea Tray Gold Tray and Perfection have changed owners since their arrival here from the Dominion, and Mr Luke Wd SOT1 > who brought Raasay and Gesto to Sydney, goes home empty handed. Gesto was sold on Friday to a patron of G. Price’s stable. He shaped fairly in his last start at Rosehill.
