HOKITIKA POULTRY SOCIETY

’Tlio annual' meeting or members of tiie Hokitika Poultry Society was hold in tlio Public Library on Wednesday opening, Mr J. J. Breeze (president) being in the chair. There were also presont Messrs W. Hall, F. Groufsky, J. V. Taylor, J. J. Breeze, jun., Theo. Lynch, J. J. Morgan, W. E. Richards. An apology was received for tlio absence of- Mr F. Ballinger, the secretary, who was that day taken ill. A vote of sympathy was passed to the Secretary with-the hope that he woifld soon be well again.

Tlio unaudited balance-sheet which showed a credit balance of £l7 12s Cd, was read and approved, subject to the audit. '

, Votes of thanks were passed to the citizens who so liberally gave donations to the Society, and to Mr 0. Jackson and Son (Greymouth) for the gift of a prize trio of birds towards tiie funds of the Society. It was resolved to vote the Secretary a bonus of £5, and eulogistic reference was made to tlio large amount of work Mr Ballinger had done. The election of officers, resulted as follows:—Patron: Hon.
