N.S.W. BEAT MARLBOROUGH (By Tclegrapu—Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, Sept. 19. A strong wind greatly marred the game when New South Wales defeated Marlborough by 27 points to 15. With a somewhat stronger wind blowing behind them in the next session the local backs took charge, their forwards dominating the play. Apart from two runaway tries which were converted, New South Wales wore practically helpless in the face of the solid pack and heavy wind facing them. Marlborough did all the forcing, this spell.

.For New South Wales tries were scored by Croft (4), Towers, Abbott and Loudon. Bartley converted three. Devine, Hewitson and Dobson scored tries for Marlborough, Phillips converting one and Devine potted a goal. New South Wales backs showed good tactics and speed, hut their handling was not always certain. The visitors were again more frequently penalised than their opponents.
