With a somewhat stronger wind blowing behind them in the next session the local backs took charge, their forwards dominating the play. Apart from two runaway tries which were converted, New South Wales wore practically helpless in the face of the solid pack and heavy wind facing them. Marlborough did all the forcing, this spell.
