Tho Olympio hurdler, Wcightman Smith, considers it is unfortunate that women’s events are included at Olympiads. He advocates separate meetings. Tho greatest disadvantage is travelling together. It is impossible for any manager to ploaso a team containing girls.

referring to tlio threat to declare • “ blacK ” all goods handled by volun- - teors, says: “This final act of insano nation-wrecking must not be added to ; tho Waterside Onion account. In any case tho affair has become a crucial test of power and will of the community to protect itself against a monstrous attack on civil rights and constitutional authority.” A CANADIAN’S VIEWS.
VANCOUVER, Sept. 19. Speaking at tho Canadian Club after two months tour of tho Antipodes, Professor W. W. Osborn, of Manitoba "University, stressed tho necessity for the sister dominions to know ono another bettor. Australia impressed him in several different ways, the largo proportion of the population living in cities | and tho immense difficulties of their problems. Signs of Americanisaj.tion were not so prevalent as in Canada, but were observable in constitution. Speaking generally, the press of Australia was distinctly superior to that of Canada, a much larger porportioa of the papers being ns good as or better than Canada’s best in sensitiveness to world affairs.
